In May, I was chosen as the Deaf Unity’s monthly role model!
The team at Deaf Unity asked me some really cool questions that I haven’t been asked before, for which I hope I gave really cool answers… I got to talk about my career journey with hearing loss, and coming to the Deaf community in later life.
You can read the full interview here.
Having Deaf role models is really important no matter what age you are. I live by the phrase “You can’t be what you can’t see”. My aim is to show the world that disabled people can be scientists. In fact, disabled people can be anything they want to be. It might take practice, hard work, and some adaptation, but you CAN.
I am hugely grateful to be recognised as a role model. Thanks, Deaf Unity!
