Over the course of 2025, I was interviewed by Technology Networks, to talk about queer identity in STEMM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths, Medicine). Alongside Hazel Xiaohui Ang, PhD and Tyler Brown, two wonderful advocates, we share experiences and opinions of being queer people in STEMM, and discuss the importance of bringing your whole self to work.

Being queer in STEMM hasn’t always been easy, and a lot of the challenges are down to public perception of who can be a scientist, and who can’t. It goes hand in hand with being disabled in STEMM. Often, difference isn’t fully accepted in the work place. Being queer in STEMM can impact your career in unexpected ways. Here’s how:
